Leaving your accommodation, we drive across the impressive 25th April Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in Europe, to the cozy town of Azeitão. We will have the chance to learn about the history of tiles in Portugal, including how they are made today. You will also have the opportunity to paint your own to take home! Then it’s off to one of the two wineries in Azeitão to discover the storied history of Muscatel and experience this delicious sweet wine for yourself.
Once you’ve had your fill, then it’s roof down as we drive through the Arrabida National Park to Setubal with breathtaking views across the Troia Peninsula and the Atlantic Ocean beyond.
After a delicious seafood lunch on the water in Setubal, our afternoon has plenty of options to choose from. You can opt to take a ferry across to the Troia Peninsula to check out the beach and the coastal town. Interested in something more historic? Visit the Forte de São Filipe at Setúbal, a short walk from our lunch spot. And if you’re still feeling thirsty, we can always find time to visit another winery in the area!
Our route back to your accommodation will take us across the Vasco da Gama Bridge, which was once the longest bridge in Europe. All this from an open-top convertible with the roof down, guaranteeing 360 degree views and at your own pace
