THE COASTAL TOUR
Lisbon - estoril - Cascais - boca da inferno - guincho Cabo da Roca - Azenhas do Mar
Love being out in the open air? Enjoy beaches, the changing features & landscape of the coast. Want amazing views of mountains, dunes & the Atlantic ocean, in one go? This tour takes you along the beaches and explores fascinating geological changes just outside of Lisbon.
Feel the wind in your hair as we follow the coast from Lisbon to our first stop at Estoril, the home of the Palacio Hotel and Casino where author Ian Fleming is said to have concocted the James Bond concept. We will take a walk along the stunning seafront to neighboring Cascais. This world famous town is known for its charming town and oceanfront restaurants.
Continue down the road along ocean-pummeled cliffs to the Boca do Inferno, or Mouth of Hell. This is a natural rock arch formed through erosion by the continuous assault of the ocean waves rolling in across the ocean, and is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.
We will next head up the coastal road to the splendid Guincho Beach to discover the massive Cresmina Dunes nestled among the Serra de Sintra hills. The Cresmina Dunes form the rear of the beach, these dunes are moving north to south at approximately 10 meters per year and create a beautiful backdrop to this stunning beach.
Next onto Cabo da Roca. Enjoy a delicious lunch at the eclectic and delicious Bar Moinho Dom Quixote, cradled in the hills with an immersive view of the rugged Atlantic Coast and the valley below. Then it is onto Praia Das Macas and the beautiful town of Azenhas Do Mar, perched on the cliffs, for some shopping and exploring quiet seaside life in Portugal.
All this from an open-top convertible with the roof down,
guaranteeing 360 degree views! And at your own pace!
